12/18/2023 0 Comments Along a long road by frank vivaIt almost makes me want to switch to the Post for the sports. I am a Mets fan, but this is hockey season and the Rangers are hot. But no mention at all about them from start to finish in sports - only football, basketball, women’s college basketball, even articles about the Yankees and Mets not signing Daniel Vogelbach. Right now the team is a Cup contender with the third-best stats in the NHL. Staten Island: Did someone in the Daily News sports department forget that New York has a hockey team - a winning one? I am a big Rangers fan and a Daily News fan. These newly named schools would fit the paradigm that has become a dominant landscape of what is America today. There will be plenty of opportunities for elite professors who can ply their false narratives that have undermined the American traditions of truth and justice. RechristeningĮlizabeth, N.J.: Just as names for professional sports teams were changed to adapt to the new times, perhaps we should rename colleges to adapt to the new character of leading elite schools: From the River to the CCNY (RCCNY) New York Useless University (NYUU) AOC Columbia University (AOCCY) Cornell Palestina University (CPU) Cooper Union of Omar and Tlaib (COUT). It seems to me that for quite some time, Palestinians have been perceived, thus treated, as though they are not of equal value to those within Israel. White Rock, British Columbia: Maybe Israel and Westerners in general, including our legacy news media, have been getting accustomed to so many Palestinian deaths over many decades of Palestinian/Israeli warring. Let us work towards a ceasefire, ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need and earnestly pursue a sustainable resolution for peace in the region. It is imperative for global leaders to prioritize the lives and wellbeing of civilians over political gains or military actions. The sole viable path forward is an immediate cessation of bombings, the restoration of essential amenities crucial for supporting life, the lifting of the siege on Gaza and the end of occupation. The Biden administration’s continued supply of weapons to the region, prioritizing political gains over the safety of innocent civilians, is deeply troubling. She aptly stated, “Finding a political solution is the only way for the roughly 7 million Jews and 7 million Palestinians living between the river and the sea to achieve lasting peace.” She emphasized that a ceasefire stands as the sole path toward any viable solution.īen-Artzi astutely elucidated that military actions can not resolve this conflict and underscored the necessity of a political resolution. Ben-Artzi, a professor of political science at Providence College, joined forces with notable Rhode Island rabbis, Jewish leaders and Israelis to demand a cessation of hostilities in Gaza. Recently, Ruth Ben-Artzi, the niece of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, voiced a compelling call for an urgent ceasefire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas. Los Altos, Calif.: I am writing to highlight the critical need for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian actions in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. Stop killing and get serious about a just peace
